ORM is the proud sponsor of two Hacktrain events for 2018, further cementing our position as the leading consultancy to many rail and public transport clients.

Kicking off with the Hacktrain Hackathon at Innotrans in Berlin this September, ORM is a silver sponsor for this inaugural event. Bringing together elite developers, designers and entrepreneurs, the aim is to disrupt the transport industry through a 4-day immersive hack. The Hackathon is part of the wider Innotrans event, the leading international trade fair for transport technology.

Following on from this, ORM will also be a silver sponsor of the popular Hacktrain 5.0 in November – a 48-hour hackathon on moving trains. Starting in Central London, innovators are divided into teams and put on trains going to routes across Europe and the UK. At both hackathons, we’re also working to provide data challenges along with our clients in the rail industry. These challenges power the event, as they provide the often complex problems that require a technology-based solution from the developers and designers taking part.

ORM will have mentors and participants attending both events, as well as having a team present at the Hacktrain 3.0 conference at the end of November. We will also be presenting at the conference alongside one of our transport clients – more details on this will be revealed later in the year.

“We’re pleased to be once again sponsoring this year’s Hacktrain event and conference, as well as being part of the hackathon at Innotrans. At ORM, data is core to what we do, informing and validating our ideas for how we can enhance the customer experience across rail travel. That’s why we’re excited to be setting one of the challenges at the hacks this year, and share our learnings from the world of rail and transport at the conference.” Peter Gough, Managing Partner & Founder, ORM
